Zarni is a 21 year old Singer/Songwriter originally from South Africa whose piano driven songs combine elements of Pop, Blues, Soul and Jazz. Zarni splits her time between living in South Africa and in Boston, where she is getting a degree in Music Education and Songwriting. She has been expanding her music career in both countries by playing at several venues in South Africa as well as in Boston, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Indiana and the Upstate New York area. Her first Album "Friday Night Lights", which was released in January 2010, is an emotional journey that explores the whimsical reminiscence of first love, the cynicism of lost love and the hope that remains in between. The piano oozes with heartfelt melodies in some songs and flirts with funky rhythms in others. Her sultry vocals and her insightful lyrics use soulful melodies to creep into the ears and the heart of the listener. Zarni has been featured on several television stations in Binghamton and the Tri Cities area including Newschannel 34 and WSKG where she recently did a 30 minute live segment of her original music and an interview. In January she was interviewed by the local Press and Sun Bulletin and appeared on the front cover of the entertainment section in The Good Times as a successful local artist. She has also been featured in the Montgomery News of the greater Philadelphia area in an interview conducted by Craig Ostroff. Zarni has just finished doing a summer tour opening for Youtube sensation the Mike Lombardo Trio. Also most recently, the hit "Spaceman" from her album placed in the top ten in one of the biggest Songwriting Competitions in South Africa and the song is now being released on a compilation album throughout the country.
